Cindy Winer, B.A., A.L.H.C.
In her mediation practice, Cindy is drawing upon twenty-five years of claims management, fifteen years of people management and over five years of career coaching and consulting experience. She held the position of Vice President, Life and Health Claims for a major insurer and has a depth and breadth of knowledge concerning disability, life and accident insurance issues and processes. In her role as an executive leader, she also facilitated the resolution of claims disputes and workplace conflicts.
Cindy holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. In 2007, she obtained a Certificate in Advanced Dispute Resolution from York University. In 2008, she completed the Civil Procedure Workshop through the ADR Institute of Ontario and the Interpersonal Mediation Workshop through Conflict Resolution Service, St. Stephen's Community House. In 2010, she attended the Employment Law and Conflict Management Workshop offered by the ADR Institute of Ontario.
From 2008 to 2014, Cindy served as a chair for the Insurance Section of the ADR Institute of Ontario and volunteered as a community mediator for Scarborough Conflict Resolution Service. Cindy serves as a board member of the Women’s Centre of York Region.
Since joining YorkStreet Dispute Resolution Group in 2009, she continues to integrate her unique blend of skills to help people successfully resolve their disability, personal injury, employment, workplace, and commercial disputes.
